Plight of BSPCA

The Blantyre Society for the Protection and care of Animals has been given notice to move. The current premises has been rezoned for office use by the City Council. The City Council is also trying to assist us in this situation. Given our financial situation being Donor operated and all our funding being plowed into the care of our animals, we are only able to afford a minimum amount for purchasing as we still have to build our offices and kennels. We are trusting that someone here in Blantyre has an acre of land that they are willing to donate to us or to sell to us for a reasonable fee with perhaps a payment plan? The premises can also be located in Limbe. If the Blantyre SPCA cannot find suitable land in the Blantyre City District we will have no choice but to euthanize 33 perfectly healthy lovable dogs and shut our doors. This will mean no more free sterilizations to the lower income community, no more free rabies, no more education on animal welfare in the schools, no more assistance to the city with regards to capture of rabid dogs. These are the cold hard facts we are facing! So our plea is if there is anyone out there who has a heart for animal welfare and you can help us in some way please call me or email me urgently!
